Training tips to get fit and HEALTHY

Fitness & Health

Consistency is Key..

Anything worth while usually takes time and dedication. As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Exercising and maintaining a healthydiet is a lifestyle choice. It takes discipline and commitment to get and remain healthy. It’s easy to be unhealthy, take a look around you.. and notice how many people are overweight. Americans have been battling obesity for decades. Consistency works no matter which way it’s used. If you eat unhealthy consistently, you’ll gain fat, potentially develop disease, and shorten your lifespan. On the flip side, if you consistently eat healthy you’ll be lean, less prone to illness, and extend your lifespan. If you ignore exercise, your body composition changes from lean to fat prominent, your cardiovascular system weakens, and you lose range of motion. If you exercise consistently, you’ll maintain a lean BMI, a healthy cardiovascular system, and you’ll stay flexible and mobile.

Make GAINS, not EXCUSES!

An excuse serves no purpose other than assisting in the procrastination of accomplishment. Excuses are for the weak, and we've all made them. When it comes to health & fitness, excuses will cost you your life, literally. We can either make time for health now, or make time for sickness later. Excuses lead to the failure of reaching your full potential. Here's five ways to NOT let that happen- 1. Believe in yourself 2. Visualize your success 3. Set small, attainable goals 4. Don't compare yourself to others 5. Learn from your mistakes “If you really want to do it, you do it. There are no excuses.” —Bruce Nauman

You fell off routine last week?

Missed a workout? Missed a week of workouts? Fell off your diet? Well, that was then and this is now. It happened, and it will happen again. How you handle it is what really matters. Whether it was a day or a week, jumping right back in is the key. Pick up where you left off and don’t look back. Your body will immediately bounce back to where it was if you simply dust yourself off and start again.

A Plank a day..

Keeps the back pain away

Developing a solid core is essential for lower back support and pain relief. Strengthening the abdominal muscles creates a solid structure for proper posture and spine alignment. The stronger your core is, the stronger everything else will be.

Childs Pose

Do this simple yoga pose everyday for a healthy back and much more. Child’s pose stretches your spine, thighs, hips, and ankles. It releases tension in your lower back, hamstrings, chest & shoulders. It can also help increase blood circulation to your head, activate digestion, & calm your mind. Hold this pose for 30-45 seconds, release, sit up, then repeat 2-4 times.
